Guerilla Advertising

Latest Uni brief. I had to go out into the environment taking photographs, anything that looks interesting or that I could manipulate to solve a brief. While walking around and after while looking at the photographs we had to think what solution of a brief each photograph could be for, either a company, product or awareness statement.


Think. Drive Safe Campaign.
This idea was for the Think. Drive Safe Campaign, when walking down the street I seen a smashed up child's toy next to the roadside. I instantly thought about adding skid makes to where the broken toy had been left to warn drivers to be careful where children play.

WWF. Protecting Endangered Animals.
This idea was for the WWF campaign, how this would be created would be a stencil that could cover up some of the dirt when the rhino's get washed so therefore when the stencil is removed it would leave the WWF logo in dirt on the rhino's body.

Smoking Kills.
This idea was for a smoking kills campaign, it came from when I was walking down the street and seen a empty cigarette packet on the floor. Then to draw a outline of a person on the floor like a murder scene would make people think twice about the long term effects shortening their life from smoking.

Shelter.
This idea was for Shelter, an awareness charity about homeless people and giving them shelter. The idea was in trade for shelter, food, and drink homeless people could pretend to sleep across the Manchester city centre, therefore when people walk around the centre of Manchester they would see lots of homeless people with no place to go leaving them feeling guilty and wanting to help them out.

Rape and Abuse Line.
This idea is for a rape and abuse line the idea being that we would highlight any evidence of rape and abuse by drawing and writing around the item.

Prostitution.
This idea is for raising awareness about Prostitution, this came form when i was walking down the street and seen the comment above in a phone box. The idea was to continue this graffiti around lots of phone box's and writing PROSTITUTION below highlighting it to people walking past.
Colour Catcher.
This idea was for advertising Colour Catcher, this idea came from a picture of a big wheel when I went to a fair, when the wheel is on the colours mix together however when stopped the colours are still separated, this reflects a washing machine and the colour catcher stopping the colours from mixing.
Jaws.
This idea is for a advertising campaign for Jaws the movie. The first idea being that there would be a sharks fin around any water around city centers. The second idea being that any walkthroughs and bridges could have big sharks teeth so that the viewer has to walk through the sharks mouth to go through the walkthrough/under the bridge.

Visit Blackpool. Donkey Rides.
This idea was to promote Visit Blackpool, this would be done by showing what can be done in Blackpool in close by cities, for example donkey rides could have someone walking donkeys through Manchester with a Visit Blackpool side on their back.

Maypole Fair.
This idea is for a maypole fair, a chance to get families back together to have some fun and spend some time together. This could be advertised by dressing local bridges in ribbons like the maypole.
Barclays.
This idea is for Barclays, I took their logo of an eagle and thought what their like, and they are very protective over their eggs so i have replaced their eggs with gold/money. Pretend but realistic eagles and money could be placed around city centers.
