Road Signs

Road signs in the UK and designed so the colour, typeface and layout means the drivers can read the signs fast and easily.
They used lowercase lettering because it has been proved that the brain can read the word just by the shape that the lowercase letters make. Therefore the previous road signs that were in uppercase took longer to read, so by the time the driver has chance to read the whole sign they have driven far past.
The colours are used so that the driver insantly reconsises what it is.
Blue is always used for motorways.
Green is used for A roads.
White is used for B road.

Brown is used for torist attractions.
These colours are insantly reconised by the driver to direct the eye straight to the infomation needed.
